His involvement in photography stretches nearly four decades, using various camera formats of 35mm, medium, large and digital.   “The area where I live isn’t new enough, or to the point of decay to offer enough stimulating photographic interest. So turning to macro seemed a natural alternative. Being from the old school, I’m not into a lot of image enhancement to draw viewers. It’s the joy of taking photographs, rather than needing a mass audience that drives me.”   Tom attended the Nikon School of Photography, professional series workshops at Eastman Kodak in Atlanta, and maintained a home darkroom for processing monochromatic films and Cibachrome until the  90’s. Moving to digital in 2004, he enjoys the freedom technology allows to experiment, stating “Digital fulfills the need for instant gratification, but it’s not until a person slows down they go beyond snapshots.”   We hope you enjoy browsing these galleries, your visits are  appreciated.
